Dr. Lyn Evans. Destroyer of the World?

On Wednesday, Dr Evans will fire up the Large Hadron Collider, a 17-mile-long doughnut-shaped tunnel that will smash sub-atomic particles together at nearly the speed of light.

Built by the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN), the collider lies beneath the French-Swiss border, near the institution’s headquarters in Geneva, at depths ranging from 170ft to 600ft.

The aim of the £4.4billion experiment is to recreate the conditions that existed a fraction of a second after the Big Bang – the birth of the universe – and provide vital clues to the building blocks of life.

It will track the spray of particles thrown out by collisions in a search for the elusive Higgs Boson, a theoretical entity that supposedly lends weight, or mass, to the elementary particles. So important is this mysterious substance that it has been called the ‘God Particle’.

Scientists also hope to shed some light on the invisible material that exists between particles – dubbed ‘dark matter’ as no one knows what it really is – which makes up most of the universe.

But a handful of scientists believe that the experiment could create a shower of unstable black holes that could ‘eat’ the planet from within, and they are launching last-ditch efforts to halt it in the courts.

One of them, Professor Otto Rossler, a retired German chemist, said he feared the experiment may create a devastating quasar – a mass of energy fuelled by black holes – inside the Earth.

‘Nothing will happen for at least four years,’ he said. ‘Then someone will spot a light ray coming out of the Indian Ocean during the night and no one will be able to explain it.

‘A few weeks later, we will see a similar beam of particles coming out of the soil on the other side of the planet. Then we will know there is a little quasar inside the planet.’

Prof Rossler said that as the spinning-top-like quasar devoured the world from within, the two jets emanating from it would grow and catastrophes such as earthquakes and tsunamis would occur at the points they emerged from the Earth.

‘The weather will change completely, wiping out life, and very soon the whole planet will be eaten in a magnificent scenario – if you could watch it from the moon. A Biblical Armageddon. Even cloud and fire will form, as it says in the Bible.’

He said that attempts were still being made in the European Court of Human Rights to halt the experiment on the grounds that it violated the right to life. The court has, however, already rejected calls for a temporary delay in the project, and it is unlikely to come to a speedy decision about whether the CERN experiment should be halted for good.

Meanwhile Dr Walter Wagner, an American scientist who has been warning about the dangers of particle accelerators for 20 years, is awaiting a ruling on a lawsuit he filed a fortnight ago in his home state of Hawaii.

He fears the experiments might unwittingly create something he calls a ‘strangelet’ that could result in a fusion reaction that might ultimately turn the Earth into a supernova, or an exploding star.

But Dr Evans, the leader of the project, who has devoted 14 years of his life to building the vast particle accelerator, is dismissive of the doom-mongers.

In fact, he is so relaxed about the project, he even wears shorts to work.

He said that Prof Rossler was a ‘crazy’ retired professor who had invented his own theory of relativity.

‘We have shown him where his elementary errors are, but of course people like that just will not listen,’ said Dr Evans.

Meanwhile, Dr Wagner’s fears were ‘totally and completely’ unfounded. ‘There are thousands of scientists around the world who have been preparing this machine and they know what they are talking about, unlike these guys,’ he added.

Dr Evans says his real nightmare is not that he will destroy the world but that, with the cameras rolling, the machine will break down. ‘This is not the first accelerator I have commissioned, but the first under the glare of the whole world,’ he said.

‘My main worry is that we’ve got a huge amount of equipment and it is new. If something trips off, we are down for hours and we have all these Press people sitting around.

‘We are not used to that. We are used to setting things up quietly and announcing it afterwards.’

I dont know about you all, but this is something that could draw alot of concern.  What are your thoughts?  The full story is HERE.  I copied alot of it though.

  1. Dave says:

This particle smashing experiment happens all the time in nature in the form of high energy cosmic rays smashing into matter. If generation of black holes was common then we should see a lot more of them locally. I think the fear mongers are making assumptions that are not based in sound theory.

  2. Jerry Costa says:

What an ass of a mad scientist Dr. Evans. Can someone not stop him?????? What is the United Nations for anyway?

  3. Matt says:

I think that this is stupid to launch this experiment. The theory of creation is in Genesis of the Bible. He’s going to destroy the world and then no life will remain. Our history erased from the books. Everything that every person worked hard for to keep us alive, will vanish. So pretty much, this guy should be killed for attempt of “Being God”. Haha.

  4. Fenris says:

this same story comes out every time someone spins up one of these super colliders.

the same thing will happen that always happens. Science will move forward and these doomsayers will go back to looking for the dragons that exist past the edge of the world.

  5. 1oldfart says:

Wow, thanks for the visits. I had mixed feelings regarding this experiment. I am still trying to come to some sort of conclusion regarding most if it.

  6. rshu1960 says:

we are all going to die!!!!!!!!!

  7. 1oldfart says:

rshu1960, Eventually, yes. That is true.

  8. Andrew Slominski says:

Why carry out an experiment that has even a small chance of killing us all instantly? What are the possible benefits of this kind of research, anyway? Don’t you think that we should be able to vote whether scientists should be able to gamble with our lives in this way?

  9. Dr. Shamoun Siddiqui says:

Being a scientist myself I certainly see very negative consequences for the planet. I don’t think that this type of experiment can be harmless under any circumstances.

It seems that Dr. Evans wants to impose his death wish on the entire planet without global approval. He should be restrained and tried for handling a weapon of mass destruction and a global killer.

  10. chuck says:

that is nuts. is there nothing no one can do to stop this guy. As the Mayan calander and Nostrodaumus predict, the world will end approximately in 2012. if this mad scientist does it now, 4 years until we see anything is when?

  11. vipul says:

wow !!! we are all gonna die….. 😀
c’mon guys…. it wud be like a life time experience….. or a life ending experience….lol….
neither our forefathers… nor our coming generations will ever witness it… coz they wont never be here…. actually this very ‘thought’ will never be there…..
so…. lets grab a beer…. and wait till wednesday… yuhoooooo

  12. nextgen08 says:

I’m not a scientist, but am failure with the outlines of what they are hoping to discover, as stated in the article. What I can’t understand is, why should they get to decide if the risks are worth the reward? If it effects everyone, then shouldn’t everyone decide? I know that most scientist believe that no harm will come to the planet, but that’s just it, they THINK no harm will come. If they knew the outcome, they wouldn’t need to run the experiment. They don’t know 100% what will happen, and they are gambling, even if it is a sure bet, with out lives. Unfortunately, I don’t think there is anything that anyone can do to stop this experiment. Just accept it. If we are all still here on Thursday and no “rays of light” are showing up in 4 years, we are safe. Let us pray.
Great article. Keep up the good work. If you need a political fix, check us out.

  13. Sean says:

They say nothing will show up for four years if anything does happen. Right around the same time that the Mayan calendar mysteriously ends.

  14. chuck says:

is that really a chance that we would want to take? Its great if you are scientist and would gladly give your life to see what the outcome would be, but don’t try to impose your dreams on the safety of others.

  15. Poteat says:

Dr. Evans’ ego knows no bounds. Do the millions of people on this planet have to die for Dr. Evans’ ego?

This is the biggest gamble of all!! Would someone please give him pocket money and send his to Las Vegas or one of the gambling clubs in London? Maybe then he wouldn’t feel the need to gamble with our lives.

  16. Artie says:

Where is Austin Powers when you need him?

  17. Greg says:

this is the same thing all these nuts said about the first atomic bomb explosion. the world will end. well to bad it didn’t, but it didn’t. most these clowns are insane.

  18. 1oldfart says:

    LOL at Artie…

  19. clint says:

I’m sure Dr. Evans has thought about this experiment hundreds of times and has come to the conclusion that his idea will work. It will be a stepping stone that men will look back upon for generations to come. They will talk about the courage and determinaton that this one man mustard to bring mankind out of the darkness in the field of subatomic partical research. Or,
We will hear rumors of how successful this experiment transpired, then is four years really see the results of this experiment. Four years of false security then the final question that all men ask of their God, “Why?”

Anyway, This question will be answered at the end of our natural life or a little sooner.

  20. JBo says:

I have to say a beam of light shining out of the Indian Ocean would be so cool. I hope we build a casino near it.

  21. 1oldfart says:

Lol @ JBo. What a hoot! I wonder what color would be more attractive?

  22. Shanna says:

The Mayan calendar predicts the end of the world Dec. 12 2012. If we don’t see any bad repercussions for 4 years, that would put us right about at the end of world date… what are the benefits to this experiment? Some scientist gets his name published somewhere, but we could all die. What the heck???

  23. 1oldfart says:

I am not too sure that I like the Mayan Calendar. It predicts the end of the world on December 21, 2012.

December 21 is my birthday. 🙂

  24. subterfugeseattle says:

    Freaky deaky

  25. PetShopDad says:

Did the Mayans predict their civilization wouldn’t be around to see the end of the world?

I’m all for the CERN collider. We could have had our own version of this world destroyer had we continued building the one in Waxahachie.

  26. jobinmartin says:

Nostradamus has Predicted World ends by 2012 right? I don’t remember exactly. Whatever, science has taken us this far, if world ends by this experiment, we should be happy to be there.

  27. 1oldfart says:

Do you really think so? Nostradamus? Please explain…

  28. Nosetrodamus says:

According to the Book of Revolutions, the world cannot end until the following three things happen:

    1. Baylor has a winning football team.
    2. Bill and Hillary have sex.
    3. Eddie Murphy actually acts in a movie.

Clearly, none of these three things are going to happen anytime soon, so we are safe.

  29. chuck says:

Nostradamus’ showed predictions of 500yrs in the future from his point, and the last prediction which was the world ending in doom, was the last prediction that he made at that moment and which would mark the dooms date to approximately 2012 to 2013

  30. Chico Chicolini says:

Well, I hope this experiment finally gives science the knowledge needed to make flying cars for us.

Get on with it quickly because I want some time to enjoy my shiny new flying car before the world implodes.

  31. fheatherly08 says:

I have 4 grandchildren under 5, is this the the planet we want to leave them, and the people we want them to look up to, if there’s any planet left. How can 1 man decide this for the hole world? I can’t bomb any thing I want how come he can try to kill the world and no one will stop him.

  32. Jessica Sue says:

This is the thing, you dont know, What will happen, i have seen it and i know something is going to happen… this has to stop, We can not do this when we dont know enough,
We all live on this planet and shuld be able to say something about this experiment that culd kill us.. You laf at this couse you dont know what i know and i feel sorry for you.
May be nothing will happen but is it really worth it, do not let them do it, thay can be rong and i belive thay are, you who read this, you know who you are, i do not have time to explain this, Just understand that their is things in this world you never will be abel to explain and this is beyond your understanding.

  33. RRG says:

Whaoooo…… too much time on your hands you all !!!!!….LOL

  34. janis garas greece says:

LHC CANNOT make black holes, even that would be interesting because with little charge on it we could handle it easily, just like in the center of giant stars the density cannot create one

  35. JACK998 says:

as you can all see the LHC has not made any black holes and the likeliness that it ever will is incredibly doubtful black holes were not formed when the big bang occured. Matter was created and expanded. That is the most likely event that some new solid will appear out of the LHC, and besides because of global warming all human life on earth will end anyway, Dr Evans is not trying to blow up the whole world he is beginning a new era of particle acceleration,he is not trying to destroy things but create things besides humans have done worse the creater of the atom bomb should have been stopped but he wasnt so why are you all complaining this man is trying to do something good

  36. 1oldfart says:

Jack, don’t you think that is a little absurd? Global Warming? Pleeeeease!!!! Atom bombs? The magnitude creates no comparison. I would like to hear of the new solid you think would result from the LHC. What does it consist of? Is there a creator named for it? Is it some Dr. or does it grow to a greater denominator? 37. Dr V.M.Das says:

Nobel prize of physics 2008 on illusion work.-Neither BigBang had occurred nor spontaneous broken symemetry was there

Mechanics of spontaneous broken symmetry in subatomic particles

Nobel prize 2008 of physics awarded to this work is too early to give prize.

And it is unfortunate day for entire physicists of the world

The subatomic particle are made up of more fundamental particles called Basic Building Blocks ( B.B.Bs) which are made up of mind and mass. These B.B.Bs are divine in nature with the result they talk with each other by phenomenon called atomic transcription and translation ( thought expressions). The triggering of broken symmetry is caused by atomic transcriptions. Unless the atomic transcriptions occur, subatomic particles could never exhibit phenomenon of broken symmetry . So the broken symmetry is never spontaneous. It is being mis understood that sub atomic particles do have spontaneous activities as far as broken symmetry is concerned. Hence the nobel prize awarded to this work is too early to give prize.

In reality particles of standard model are not fundamental particles. There are certain other particles smaller than particles of standard model witch are called Basic Building blocks. I have made an effort to investigate for basic building blocks ( B.B.Bs) which are fundamental particles . Up on these B.B.Bs atomic genes (mind or thought particles) are found. Hence these B.B.Bs are made up of mind and mass and they are called God particles . These B.B.Bs are divine in the sense that they talk with each other by phenomenon called atomic transcription and translation. Further they have power to transform into bigger units (bigger particles of standard model , atoms, molecules etc. ) by atomic transcription and translation phenomenon. Unless atomic transcription occure, B.B.B.s could never exhibit phenomenon of broken symmetry or first transformation in the universe. There fore broken symmetry is never spontaneous . That is why selection of work for Nobel prize is wrong.

How would LHC experiment solve MIND mystery ?
